Round 8 UDC/ AMA Competition, 22-11-09
The final round of the year for the Ulster Drift Championship came this weekend with the two title contenders
Alan Mc Cord and Paul Conlan fighting it out with only a point between them entering this round, The day was cold wet and windy but it didn’t stop the
both drivers and spectators from turning out to the bishops court circuit to watch the days action. With all the Division 1 drivers automatically
qualifying with the battles there qualifying was to see who they where up against, this also was to make sure there was a good sceptical for every one
watching.
Chris Brady who took last year out of drifting to save money, but had come to a few rounds turned up at the weekend and drove out of his skin to take
1st place in the final, battling young Mc Keever as the darkness set in.
As for the championship, it went down to the third place playoff with Paul and Alan, taking part; in the end Alan won the championship over a hard
fought battle.
Also on the day there was the first round of the ‘Winter Series’ for the armature guys who turned up in record numbers for the days action, with
people bringing some very nice cars on the track, mainly for the track time and the fun of drifting with a bit of a competition.
Final Championship standings
