SWRC Drift Skills, Nutts Corner, Antrim,
20th June 2009 |
|
The venue for the latest drift action on the calendar today was Nutts Corner, just beside the Oval track. As most of you will be aware this is a practice day for drifters coming up through the ranks. Rather than lose your licence on the public roads or get annihilated by the drivers who have been doing it for years, the SWRC has devised the superb idea of building a practice course to give drivers extra skill and confidence. There is plenty of run off area in case of a spin and only a few cars allowed out at a time so there is loads of space. Big thanks to Wayne and everyone at the SWRC for looking after us as always..........

Ballymena Car Fest, Ballee Playing Fields, Ballymena,
13th June 2009 |
|
The latest car show to take place happened today at Ballee playing fields in Ballymena. To be fair the event was a lot more than a car show with a stunning array of Lorries and tractors adding to the variety of the show. In fact, one photographer commented that the event was similar to those that you would see in England. This is true and also a great compliment to the organisers efforts. Gone are the days were only a select section of cars fans were catered for. Now there is something for everyone young and old. The vintage cars, providing a window into the olden days, were immaculately presented.......

Need for Speed, Bishopscourt,
7th June 2009 |
|
This weekend’s action at Bishopscourt saw both 4th rounds of the Irish Drag Championship and Ulster Drift Championships. A wet Saturday saw the Drag strip open for the people who travelled up and braved the bad weather. The numbers were small mainly due to the shocking weather but the times set where still very fast! The fastest time going to the ECC yellow Evo, but everyone set respectable times non the less. Also on Saturday was the time attack track sessions with a prize going to the fastest car of the day. Again the numbers entering on the day were a bit low but it is a great chance for people to bring their road car along and get some track time.....

Ford Causeway Coast Fair, Dunluce Centre, Portrush,
7th June 2009 |
|
Once again it was the time of year for the extremely popular Ford Causeway Coast Fair Show. The location as always was the Dunluce Centre at the seaside resort town of Portrush. The Causeway Coast Ford Fair gives Ford enthusiasts the opportunity to view a range of Ford vehicles spanning years of Ford production to include Vintage, Classic, Modified, American, Modern Fords & Motor sports stalls etc. This is one of the best shows of the year due to the quality of cars and the turn out and spectator attendance. The only thing that makes it better is good weather and it was excellent to see the sun out this year again!.....

Audio Advice in Portadown had their annual open day at there premises this weekend and as normal they had some stunning machines on display. Harmony Hill, Lisburn,
30th May 2009 |
|
It was good to see the now annually Harmony Hill show take place this weekend. The decision was made to move to a bigger venue up the road, which was located at a local school. The choice was definitely the right one as the turnout of cars, compared to last year, was at least double. As well as the stunning quality of cars on display, the weather also put upa good show in what was one of the sunniest days of the year. The cars and stands ranged from high powered Subarus, Evo’s to the euro styled Dubs and on to the new and old Fords and everything in between. A big thanks to the organisers......
